Pickled Onions

What you'll need:

  • Red onion (I usually do 1 or 2 at a time)

  • Glass jar (Mason jar or large pyrex)

  • Apple cider vinegar

  • Water

  • Optional: caraway seeds (for flavor)


  1. Thinly chop onions and place in glass storage

  2. Cover with 3 parts apple cider vinegar & 1 parts water

  3. Place 1 tbsp caraway seeds if desired and mix in

  4. Cover and seal and leave in fridge for 24 hours before use, store up to 2 weeks

You can reuse brine a couple of times!

Try them on:

  • Salads

  • Eggs

  • Sandwiches

  • Rice bowls

  • Burgers

  • Burritos/tacos
