Faith over Fear

There is so much fear nowadays. In my inbox, in daily conversation, constant worrying of "what do I do if this happens". What do we do about coronavirus? What about these disney pedophiles? Ebola is back! Have you seen the tiktok doctors?! Moms scared to vaccinate. Moms scared not to. How long is it okay for my child to run a fever before I need to worry? What if I can't afford to feed my kids organic? Who's going to be elected president next?......and on and on and on. Knowledge IS power, but that knowledge can be overwhelming for our finite minds.

God COMMANDS us NOT to fear. Fear is what the enemy (the devil) uses to decrease our faith and limit our hope. I can't explain to you in words my peace through all the uncertainties of life outside of the Lord Jesus. Of course, I take needed precautions and use common sense with things in life, but I do not fear the future. My overarching thoughts are not of anxiety. “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34 And this is not of my own accord. It is 100% the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in me and that peace which surpasses understanding.

The only thing we should fear is God - we are to have a reverent fear. Total acknowledgement of all the He is. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." Proverbs 9:10

Some verses on fear:

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."

-John 14:27

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

-Joshua 1:9

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."

-Psalms 23:4

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread"

-Psalms 27:1 (but really like - this whole chapter...)

So, sweet friends, take REST in the peace of the One who gave His life for you. We don't have all the answers in this life. And we aren't supposed to. 💛
